The graph was only locked by five edit-mode guards in GraphCanvas. The
running game reads the graph by reference each frame, so a new node, edge,
changed value, disconnect or undo takes effect from the next frame. Stop
discards these edits like everything else changed in play. A new On start
node does not fire for a behavior that has already started.
During play every data output shows the value it last produced, in the
highlight colour and refreshed ten times a second. Values are kept per
graph, because node ids are only unique within one; with several
instances the most recent value wins. The Variables node reads the live
variable bag, so only its own outputs are kept, as a snapshot.
Each time an exec edge fires, a bead runs along it in 0.3 s, at most one
every 0.15 s per edge, following the same curve the edge is drawn with.
Beads run on game time and freeze while paused; the game logic is
unchanged.

Split GraphCanvas (1076 -> 831 lines) into EdgeLayer and graphMenus;
the port and marker menus were the same list and are now one function.
Value specs of the inspector and the list tab share valueSpecs.ts, and
the remaining copies (compound commands, type glyphs, typed asset
lookup, name rule, play/editor world setup, marquee) are merged.
Four copies had already drifted apart; merging them fixes:
- "Disconnect N links" in the port menu is one undo step, not N
- "+ Add collider" is hidden on a placed container instance, as in
the hierarchy menu, instead of always failing
- a bool property coerced from the text "false" becomes false
- a port command on an unknown node type reports instead of crashing
Comment-only edits leave the bundle byte-identical. README corrected in
35 places (step limit, jump-run clock, suite duration, 409 body, ...).

PropertyValue was number | string | boolean | list. A struct joins it, which
costs two things the typechecker found rather than I did.
An object on a data edge used to mean a live entity, so asEntity would have
taken a struct for one and asString would have read .name off it. EntityHandle
now carries a symbol brand – a symbol so no field name can impersonate it, and
it never serializes, which suits a thing that exists only while the game runs.
It is built in exactly one place.
String(value) would have written a struct as [object Object] at 39 call sites.
They go through textOf(), which is identical for primitives.
normalizeGraph dropped everything but primitives from node params, so the List
node lost its value on every save ([3,1,4] round-tripped to undefined).
Variables were spared: they have a schema, params have none.
objectSection.ts had grown to 559 lines around three separable parts: the
queries, the vector rows and the parent row. Four object commands repeated the
same capture/restore preamble – applyCommands stays out, its five carry extra
undo state whose restore order matters.
58 dashed banner comments are gone. The nine labels in nodes/index.ts stay:
they are the only structure a flat 90-entry array has.

A held key fired once and then nothing, so sliding a Tetris piece sideways or
walking a menu meant building a timer next to every key node. Two settings on
the node do it now: Repeat after and Repeat interval, both in milliseconds so
the usual values stay whole numbers (300, 50) instead of 0.3 and 0.05. A delay
of 0 keeps the node exactly as it was, an interval of 0 means every frame.
The browser's own auto-repeat is deliberately not used - Input.press has always
dropped it - because its delay and rate are an operating-system setting of the
player's, not a game's. The repeat is built from the measured hold time instead,
per node, so two nodes on one key keep their own clocks. The rule itself is a
pure function in keyRepeat.ts and is checked without a world.
Both rows stay off the node body while the delay is 0: two lines of "0" on every
key node in every graph would be noise, and the screenshot said so. NodeDef gains
hiddenParams for that; the inspector still shows them.

A behavior that has a Start and an End node can now be dropped into any
other graph as a node of its own. What is declared on the start node
becomes the inputs of that node, what hangs on the end node its outputs;
the port list is derived from the sub graph, not copied, so declaring a
port in one graph grows the node in the other without touching it. The
node carries the behavior's name and the palette lists behaviors by
name, so a call is one grab instead of a node plus a dropdown.
An embedded behavior has no object and therefore no place for
variables: every call starts on the asset defaults and communicates
only through its ports. That is the conservative direction - state can
still be added later, and shared state already has a home in a behavior
object in the scene. Node ids are unique per graph only, so each call
gets its own pulse cache; without that, two graphs would collide.
Renaming a port used to silently drop the value typed on the calling
node. It is carried along now, project wide, like the edges.
Pause is a sub-state of play, not a third mode: the toolbar button and
Ctrl+Enter stop ticking the world, the clock included. A held frame still
drops the input edges, so resuming does not fire a pause worth of keys in
one go.
The editor run missed the case it is most wanted for. hasEditorRun only
looked at the stored scene objects, so a behavior inside a placed
container never started one; the world now builds from resolveObjects and
writes back through objectRef, keeping the move as an instance edit
instead of baking the instance out.
Keys and clicks go to the run while the Game tab is on screen, where no
key means anything to the editor, and are handed back on leaving it -
held keys released, so nothing keeps walking unpressed.
A behavior object carries a "Run in editor" switch next to Enabled. When
it is on, the behavior ticks outside of Play and works on the saved model
directly - Unity semantics: what it moves is a real change, autosaved and
not undoable.
Input stays with the editor, so On key never fires while typing. The
editor run never bakes placed containers into the model, since that would
silently drop their instanceEdits.
syncToModel reports whether it wrote anything, and the dirty flag is only
raised on change - otherwise a behavior moving something every frame
would trigger ~60 saves a second.
The game view took whatever camera came first in the scene, ignoring the
switch, so `enabled = false` on a camera did nothing and a second camera
never got its turn. `World.activeCamera()` now decides: of the cameras
switched on – the whole parent chain counted, as for any object – the
first in hierarchy order, and none on renders nothing at all. It is asked
per frame, so a graph switching cameras hands the view over immediately.

A scene now stores only the container object; its content is resolved from
the template on every read, with deviations kept as sparse instanceEdits on
the container object. This drops the propagation bookkeeping entirely --
templateSync.ts is gone and the three structural gaps (add, remove, reparent)
cannot diverge any more.
Values stay editable on an instance, structure does not; Unpack writes the
content into the scene, keeping ids. Play mode bakes containers into the
throwaway copy before entities are built. No migration: formatVersion is 2
and the seeders write the new format.

Tooling:
- Prettier as the single formatting authority (110 columns, single quotes,
measured against the existing style); Markdown excluded because table-cell
padding turns the README glossary into 1000-character lines.
- Type-aware ESLint ending in eslint-config-prettier, so a rule always means
"this is a bug", never "this looks different".
- .editorconfig and an `npm run check` that runs typecheck, lint, format and
tests in one go.
Findings fixed on the first run: three more duplicate imports, four
String(unknown) calls (parameter types narrowed instead of casts), two dead
initialisers, two redundant casts, a console.log for a real error. Two
warnings were false here and are disabled with a reason in place.
Tests 132 -> 269:
- node-catalog.test.ts covers every node with a run(), with a guard that fails
when a new node has no row.
- behavior-events.test.ts covers the ten event nodes through a running World,
checking timing rather than existence.
- Input's state machine (press/release/releaseAll) is reachable without DOM
events now; the DOM handlers are thin adapters.
Compare fell back to == without a configured operator although the schema
default is <; aligned.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- SceneObject.editorOffset (x/y): shifts only where an object is drawn in
the Scene tab, cascades to children, undo-able with a reset action.
Never written into container templates.
- On click without an owner now fires for any click inside the camera
frame instead of hit-testing the (editor-only) behavior symbol.
- seed-jumprun: coins are a "Coin" container (sprite + trigger), nested
containers are expanded recursively, Destroy targets the coin's parent,
and the clock uses a Ceil node instead of ToText.

Engine additions that the example game needed:
- `enabled` as a shared property of every placeable asset (default on, an
override on the scene object). A switched-off object is not drawn, does not
collide and its behavior does not run - and neither does anything parented
below it. Disabled objects are now hidden in the scene view as well, so the
editor shows what the game shows; they stay in the hierarchy panel, which is
where they are selected and switched back on.
- Asset type `text` (text, fontSize, color, align), rendered in scene and game.
- Pointer input in the game view: `On click`, `Mouse position`, `Mouse button`,
`Is hovered`, hit-tested against colliders, else sprite/text footprints.
- New nodes: Set/Is enabled, Set text, Is asset, Name of, Equals, To text,
Join text, Floor/Ceil/Round, Modulo, Random, Time, Restart game.
Tooling: shared CDP harness (tools/harness.mjs), central project registry with
a guard that keeps destructive scripts off the playground (tools/projects.mjs),
plus smoke suites for the demo scene and the jump-and-run game.

Move with "Collide with solids" now steps in sub-steps of at most half the
thinnest collider, so a fast step can no longer jump across a collider (the
crates are only 60 high, which is why it showed up mostly on the y axis). A
pre-existing overlap is still never resolved, but it can no longer be
deepened either, so a small overlap cannot open a wall permanently.
seed-demo.mjs now writes the saved demo scene: a "Player" container (green
sprite with collider and the Mover behavior) against two "Enemy" container
instances, camera at zoom 0.5, Spawner dropping another enemy on Space.
The e2e checks assert against the old two-crate layout and locate widgets by
text, which the demo can no longer provide (three identically named sprite
instances, both crates nested in containers). Its fixture therefore moves to
tools/seed-e2e.mjs so the shipped demo can evolve without rewriting 100+
checks: seed-e2e -> e2e -> seed-demo.

- Collider property isTrigger (no blocking, still reports enter/stay/exit)
- Node 'Move and slide' with blocked x/y outputs, axis-wise resolution
- axisSeparation/axisCorrection geometry for box/box, circle/circle, box/circle
- Amber outline for trigger colliders in the viewport
- Demo mover uses Move and slide; E2E step 15b, 7 new unit tests
Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Asset type 'collider' (box/circle) placed as child of a body object
- 'Add collider' shortcut (hierarchy context menu + inspector)
- CollisionSystem with enter/stay/exit pairs, sibling colliders excluded
- Nodes: On collision enter/stay/exit, Is touching
- Green outline in edit mode, hidden in play
Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Position is now { x, y, z }; higher z draws on top, ties keep hierarchy order
- Viewport sorts the objects layer deterministically (syncDrawOrder)
- Inspector shows a Z field; asset properties that differ from the schema
default are marked bold with a reset button (ResetAssetPropertyCommand)
- isModified() helper, unit tests, E2E checks and seed updated
Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Camera assets get width/height properties; play mode renders only the
camera frame (letterboxed, masked, culled) and nothing without a camera
- Remove demo arrow-key/camera-follow systems from play mode
- Clip world and gizmos to the viewport (selection frame no longer leaks
over the left panel)
- Blur focused widget on pointerdown outside it so inspector edits commit
before selection changes
- Separate objects/overlay layers so camera symbols always render on top
- Add tools/seed-demo.mjs for reproducible E2E runs
