Done in 29b604d, wiki f70e4b7 (Sounds, Development).

What came

  • Fade in (ms) and Fade out (ms) replace Edge fade, 5 ms each by default. Like before they act only on an edge inside the file.
  • Fade in curve and Fade out curve, one per edge: Linear (default), Equal power, S-curve, Exponential, Logarithmic. A fade out runs its curve backwards.
  • Sound tab header: a field and a curve dropdown per edge. The dropdowns show the curve as a small picture (rising for in, falling for out) and name it in the tooltip. The menu shows picture and name.
  • Inspector: four rows (Fade in, Fade in curve, Fade out, Fade out curve), the curves by name.
  • Wave view: each ramp is drawn in its own curve.
  • Cut name: <file>#<start>~<end>~<fadeIn>~<fadeOut>~<curveIn>~<curveOut>.
  • No migration, as asked: the old fade key is no longer read, saved sounds get 5 ms and Linear on both edges.

Decided by me: pictures instead of names in the header dropdowns. With two named dropdowns the header was too wide at 1280 px and cut the readout on the right ("0.5" instead of "0.50 s of 0.75 s"), seen on a screenshot. With pictures everything fits.

Tests

Unit sounds + sound-library → 96 green
Counter-check (fade out with the fade in's curve) → 1 red, restored green
e2e 34 (melektaus-atx) → ALL PASSED – 69 checks
Gate (melektaus-atx) → CHECK EXIT 0, 256 files, 3978 tests
  • e2e 34 sets only the fade out curve to Exponential and checks the fade in stays Linear (asset, tooltip, cut name …~0.005~0.04~linear~exponential). The measured ramp is exactly (i/1920)² of the signal.
  • Not checked: how the curves sound. Measured only, not listened to.
