Draw notes for an instrument in a piano roll and loop them #333
Notes could only be played one at a time, by a key or a behavior. A pattern is a stretch of notes for one instrument, drawn in a piano roll and played in time through the scheduler of #332. Songs (#334) will lay patterns out on tracks. - New asset type pattern under the heading Patterns. Instruments are listed under Instruments now, since a heading is one per type. - Notes are a start and a length in ticks, a note number and a velocity, kept to their rules on load and in every command. The instrument, the length in bars, the grid, the meter and the tempo are rows in the inspector. The loop is the asset's own data, the whole pattern while none is set. - Grids from 1/1 to 1/32 and the triplets 1/4T to 1/32T, all whole ticks. The meter only moves the bar lines, the notes stay put. - The tab shows the keys down the left, a ruler with bars, beats, loop and start along the top, the notes between them and a velocity lane below. Keys the instrument plays nothing for are grey, the names of a drum kit stand on its keys. - A click draws a note on the grid line before the pointer, as long as the last one drawn or lengthened and as hard as the last velocity set. The body moves a note, the right end lengthens it, Alt leaves the grid. A drag on empty grid picks with a band, Shift adds, a right-click deletes. - Keys: Space plays, Delete, Ctrl+C/V/D/A, the arrows by a semitone or a grid step and with Shift by an octave or a bar. A paste lands where playing starts. Every gesture is one undo step. - A click on the ruler sets where playing starts, a drag the loop or one of its ends, its menu loops a bar or the whole pattern. - The wheel scrolls, Shift across, on the ruler or with Alt it zooms. Ctrl+wheel stays with the browser, Pixi listens passively. - Play runs the loop through the scheduler. An edit goes to it on the next window without a restart, a new loop or tempo counts from what is planned. Another pattern shown or a project opened stops it. - The time axis and the ruler are their own pieces in editor/music for the song tab. The rules of the roll are pure functions in rollView and rollEdit. Findings: - Music.play could start after a stop that came while it was still loading its files. A run counter makes the late start give up. Music.edit now loads what a new note needs as well. - A click on an end of the loop would have set the loop again. A press there only moves the end once it is dragged. Tests: - pattern.test.ts (new, 9) and piano-roll.test.ts (new, 16): model, grids, meter, held notes, sequence, commands, loop, round trip, drum names, time lines, rows, hits, bands, lane, edit rules. - e2e 64 (new) on melektaus-atx: ALL PASSED, 20 checks. e2e 4 with 29 asset types: ALL PASSED, 62 checks. - Gate on melektaus-atx: CHECK EXIT 0, 247 test files, 3839 tests. - Counter-checks: the move without its clamp, the sequence without the end of the pattern, the duplicate offset without whole grid steps each fail 1 test. Without passing edits to the scheduler the e2e check for a note drawn while playing fails, the rest passes. - Probe on stein2: the tab with a drum kit, before and while playing, looked at in two screenshots. Play sounds as notes of an instrument asset #331
A sound could only be played as it was, one at a time. An instrument
is a node graph that makes a note a sound: Notes nodes bring the note
in, Samples play sound assets for it, the effects of a sound FX shape
it and the Output sums the layers. Its tab plays it from a keyboard,
a behavior with Play note. It is what patterns and songs (#330) will
play.
- New asset type instrument, under the heading Music, not placeable.
A new one starts as Notes into a Sample into the Output.
- Notes are counted as MIDI does: 60 is C4, names like C#4, sharps
only, the lowest C-1. Notes has From and To, outputs any, note,
frequency and velocity, and with Single notes a trigger per note,
each with an optional name for a drum kit.
- New port type trigger, only into the trigger of a source. Inputs
can take any number of edges now (PortDef.many): a trigger, and
the Output, which plays everything into it side by side.
- Sample plays a sound asset. Follow note shifts it by note - root
through the pitch worklet of #317, so it keeps its length. Gate
fades it out at the end of the note, One-shot plays through. Loop
runs between Loop start and Loop end, also in the worklet.
- Parameters declares the instrument's own parameters with a
default. Sound FX sends the sound through a sound FX asset, its
parameters as inputs, the sound set in where its Input was.
- compileInstrument walks the graph once per note. A trigger is on
only for the notes it stands for, a silent source silences what it
alone feeds, a Mix with a silent side is the other side. velocity
and the parameters stay open for the voice. Builds are cached per
note until the graph or a sound or FX it names changes.
- The player takes a note as one voice of several layers, each way
with its own file and volume. release fades the gated ways out,
one-shots play on. playNote can release after a duration.
- Play note plays one note with velocity, volume, duration and
detached, and hands out voice for Set sound FX parameters and
Stop sound. Velocity is always loudness. Instrument parameters
picks values for the instrument's parameters like Sound FX
parameters does for an FX, renames follow.
- The tab has the graph, a header field per parameter, Stop, and
128 keys below. Keys without sound are grey. A key plays while it
is held. Focused, the computer keyboard plays as in a tracker by
KeyboardEvent.code, the arrows move the octave.
Findings:
- A label of the keys set fill on the shared small text style and
darkened every small label of the editor. Caught in a screenshot
before the commit, the keys have a style of their own now.
- Suite task 523 on

Play a sound through a graph of gain, pitch and EQ effects #311
A sound could only be played as it was uploaded. A Sound FX asset is
a node graph like a shader: Input, effects, Output. Play sound has a
new input fx that sends the voice through it.
- New asset type soundfx ("Sound FX"), not placeable, with a graph
and its own tab. The heading in the asset panel is "Sound effects",
so it does not take the click meant for the + menu entry.
- Nodes in core/soundfx/nodes.ts, category sound, port type audio
that only fits audio: Input, Output, Gain (dB), Pitch (semitones),
EQ (80 Hz and 12 kHz shelves, peaks at 250 Hz, 1 kHz and 4 kHz).
- compileSoundFx walks back from the Output with the shared graph
emitter. An input takes one edge, so the result is one line: a
pitch and a list of gain and filter stages. A node without input
or a graph without Output reports a problem on the node.
- Pitch is the playback rate of the source. It applies to the whole
sound and also changes its length, the node description says so.
- The BehaviorSystem resolves fx and hands the line to the AudioSink.
An fx that is missing or does not compile plays the sound dry.
- SoundLibrary wires source, stages, volume, destination in that
order. stats().last now also names pitch and stage count.
- The tab header picks one of the project's sounds and plays it
through the graph as it stands. Stop there ends only its own voice.
Tests:
- soundfx.test.ts (new, 11), sound-library (9, +2 for the wiring),
node-catalog (+1 for fx), graph and asset-groups adjusted
- e2e 34: ALL PASSED - 26 checks (+5: + menu opens the tab, palette,
2 effects, tab Play and game Play through the FX at -12 st)
- Gate on melektaus-atx: typecheck, lint, prettier clean, 239 of 240
test files green. The red one was sound-library (its fake
AudioContext had no playbackRate), fixed afterwards, gate not
re-run in full.
- Counter-check: without the audio rule in portsCompatible the port
test fails.

Use a shader graph as a node in other shaders (#303)
A calculation needed in several shaders (a greyscale, a noise, an outline) had to be built again in every one of them. A shader function keeps it as an asset of its own, called like a behavior is since #16. - New asset type `shaderfunction` ("Shader function"), edited in the Shader tab. The panel beside the graph shows no picture, the readout counts its inputs and outputs. - Two new nodes: `Function input` and `Function output`. Their declared ports, numbers or colours only, are the ports of every call. One of each per function, like Start and End. - The call is node `ShaderCall`, named after the function. The palette lists every function, it can be dragged in from the Assets panel, and a double-click opens it. - The compiler sets the function in where it is called (`inlineFunctions`). It renames the copied nodes `<call>/<node>` and turns an unconnected port into a constant. Passes, Time, the Edge cut and the corner walk then see a plain graph. - A problem inside a function is reported at the call, in the function's words. The function's own tab checks it on its own (`checkShaderFunction`). - `ShaderLibrary` keys a shader on its graph and on every function it calls, however deep, so a change reaches every caller. - The port commands mirror a new, renamed or removed port into every call, as for a behavior's Start and End. `NodeDef.portKinds` holds the two ends to Number and Color. - As agreed in the issue: no `Property`, `Color property`, Output or Vertex output in a function, and `Time` is the caller's clock. - Own decision: a `Pass` may stand in a function. It becomes a pass of the calling shader, so a wide blur can be a function. - A function calling itself, also through another, says so at the node and is not set in. The palette does not offer such a call. - The Shader tab showed only the compiler's problems. A call nothing reaches was never compiled and looked healthy, so a call now also shows its own problem there, as in a behavior. Tests: - Gate: 228 files, 3510 tests, CHECK EXIT 0 (+13: 11 in tests/core/shader-functions.test.ts, 2 for the new icon) - e2e 28: 100 checks, all passed (+3 in 28l-viii). Called and in place both #606060/#a2a2a2, halved in the function #303030/#515151. - Counter-check: a fingerprint without the called functions fails 1 unit test, and in the browser the change check (#606060 stays). - The first e2e runs found two faults, both fixed: a double-click only selected the function, and an unreached call of itself showed no problem. - e2e total 1728 is computed (1725 + 3). Put the shapes of a vector drawing on layers and in groups (#190)
A vector drawing was one flat list of shapes. With many shapes the list got hard to read, and several shapes could not be kept or moved together. Now the shapes stand on layers, as in pixel art, and can be put into groups that nest. - A drawing has layers, each with a name and an eye. A hidden layer is neither in the tab nor in the picture a sprite wears, and its shapes cannot be pressed. One layer is the one worked on: the pen and Add shape draw onto it, and SHAPES lists what is on it. - The inspector has a list LAYERS over the shapes. Its plus adds a layer, the cross on a row removes it with all on it, the last one stays. A double-click renames, a drag sorts. - Group (Ctrl+G) puts the selected shapes into a group, Ungroup (Ctrl+Shift+G) takes it away. A group stands over its rows in the list, the rows one step in, and a row is dragged into a group or out of it. - In the tab a press on a shape takes its outermost group, and a drag moves the group as one undo step. - The model has layers with a tree of shapes and groups instead of a flat shapes array. The rules are pure functions in core/model/vectorTree.ts. A drawing saved before opens with all its shapes on one layer. - SortableList takes rows with a depth and drops into a tree. The flat lists of tilemap and pixel art run as before. Decided here: - A group has no transformation of its own and cannot be hidden or locked. Rotating and scaling is the follow-up #291. - A group is never empty: the one that loses its last shape goes with it. - Several selected shapes are dragged together, grouped or not, and a click on a shape of the selection keeps the selection. This is what #217 asked for. - Shift+click selects like Ctrl+click. With Select, Shift pans only beside the shapes, as in the scene view. The middle button pans anywhere, and with the pen and Paint Shift pans as before. - A row of the list picks one shape of a group alone. - Shapes change their layer through a row Layer in the inspector, which is there from two layers on. Rows are not dragged between layers. - A group cannot span two layers, the button is off then. - The pen does not draw onto a hidden layer, the hint says so. - Groups are always shown unfolded. - The four order buttons work inside the own group or layer. Tests: - Gate: 204 files, 3067 tests (3008 + 59), exit 0 - e2e 47,48: 108 checks. e2e 39,40,47,48 before the Shift change: 209 checks. No full run, the sum of 1645 (1639 + 6) is reckoned and CI measures it. - 59 unit tests: 36 in tests/core/vector-tree.test.ts, 23 in tests/editor/vector-layers.test.ts - Six e2e checks with a real mouse in block 47j - 47 unit counter-probes for layers and groups and three for the Shift click all fail tests, run on stein2 - Three browser counter-probes fail their checks - Two screenshots looked at (group in the list, hidden layer) - Only unit tested: the row Layer, sorting and removing layers, copying a group, the Shift pan beside the shapes Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Pick a link on its line and delete it from there (#289)
A link could only be removed through the menu of its port, and the line itself took no input. A transition of a state machine could only be deleted in the list of the inspector. Now the line is the handle, in a behavior's graph and between states alike. - A click on a line selects that link and draws a halo behind it. A press counts within 6 screen pixels of the line, and where two cross the one drawn last wins. - Ctrl-click or Shift-click adds a link or takes it away. The rubber band takes every line it crosses, into the same selection as the nodes and boxes it caught. - Delete or Backspace removes what is picked as one undo step. A right-click on a line offers Hide link and Delete link. - The inspector shows a picked link: the node and port at each end and the type it carries, with Hide link and Delete link below. For several it says how many. - The arrow of a transition is picked the same way, on its name too. Delete or a right-click with Delete transition removes it. - The menu of a port is unchanged, Disconnect included, as answered in the issue. - editor/graph/edgeHit.ts holds the hit test as pure functions, and editor/inspector/edgeSection.ts builds the section. The selection has a new kind edge, and node and annotation carry edgeIds. Decided here: - A hidden link has no line and is never picked this way, also while it is shown on loan. Its mark at the port stays its handle. - The menu of a line speaks about the whole selection, like the menu of a box. With nodes or boxes held alongside it reads Delete N items. - Hiding picked links lets go of them, since no line is left. - A link wins over the box it crosses, and a mark wins over a link. - A transition has no Hide entry. - With nodes or boxes in the selection the inspector keeps showing the node or box, not the link. Tests: - Gate: 201 files, 2982 tests (2967 + 15), exit 0 - e2e, full run: 1635 checks passed (1629 + 6), exit 0 - Smokes: 24 / 19 / 21, exit 0 - The full run was done for exactly this state. - 15 unit tests in tests/editor/edge-selection.test.ts - Six e2e checks with a real mouse, block 6z-xi in module 06 and 26e7 in module 26 - 12 unit counter-probes all fail tests, run on stein2 - Three browser counter-probes fail, the build went through each time: no hit on the line, no halo, a band that skips lines - Screenshots of a picked link and a picked transition looked at before the last build, none after it Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Pick the target of an object variable in the Scene View (#276)
Choosing the target of an object variable meant finding its name in a dropdown. With many objects, or several with the same sprite, the name alone does not say which one it is. The eyedropper lets you click the object where you see it instead. - Every object dropdown gets an eyedropper button next to it. This covers variables, struct fields and list entries, in the Inspector and in the Variables tab. - The button opens the Scene View or the container tab the object lives in. A strip above the view names the field and the current candidate and offers Take and Cancel. The cursor is a crosshair. - A click picks a candidate and writes nothing yet. The candidate gets its own cyan frame, the selection stays on the object with the variable. - Clicking follows the selection rule. `pickOn` in `src/viewport/pick.ts` uses `pressOn` and only counts objects the dropdown offers. A click on empty space keeps the candidate. - Enter or Take writes through the same handlers as the dropdown. That is one undo step, or none if nothing changes. - Esc, Cancel, a right click in the view or a second click on the button cancel without writing. So do a tab switch, another selection, undo, redo, play and loading a project. - After Take or Cancel the editor goes back to the tab the pick came from. - While the eyedropper runs, the view does not drag, marquee, paint, show handles or open its context menu. Panning and zooming stay. Found on the way: - Started from the Variables tab, the click missed the object. The Scene View is hidden while that tab is open, and the layout skips hidden children. The strip appeared then, the view moved down by 32 px but kept its old height. `Editor.display()` now lays the row out again after showing it. Tests (on melektaus-atx): - unit pick and object-pick: 27 passed, 13 new - gate: 196 files, 2844 tests, CHECK EXIT 0. Two more come from svg-icons, which checks every icon twice. - e2e 57: ALL PASSED, 12 checks, 5 new (57e to 57g) - Counter-checks work. Without the layout fix 57g fails. Picking objects the dropdown does not offer fails 2 tests. Writing on cancel fails 2 more. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Show lists in the inspector and variables in their own tab (#252)
The List tab could show one list at a time and was the only place to see its items. A list now shows its items right where it lives, and a new Variables tab shows all variables of an asset or placed object. - InlineList draws the items of a list under its row in the inspector, in struct fields and in the Variables tab. A list inside a list or a struct field is drawn the same way, one step indented. - The index column is the indent. Items sit under their list without an own margin, and the index column is 16 px wide instead of 28 px. - Above 20 items (INLINE_LIMIT) the rest collapses into "... N more - open in tab". During a run the rows show the values from the game. - ListHead puts "N items" and "+ Item" in one row. "N items" opens the list in a tab. A separate Open button squeezed the counter to zero width in the narrow inspector column. - VariablesEditor shows every variable of a behavior asset, a variables asset or a placed behavior. On an asset it edits the declarations. On a placed object an edit only overrides that object, with the usual reset and push buttons. - Opening a list inside a tab adds a new tab and keeps the open one. valuesKey gives each list its own document, so a list that is already open is shown instead of opened twice. - Titles read "Pickup · Variables" or "Listy · nums · [3]". The tab closes when its asset or object is deleted. - Lists on node inputs stay inline only, a node owns no variables. - The List tab, ListEditor and the __gm.list hook are gone. Tests: - ./check.sh: 181 files, 2645 tests, CHECK EXIT 0 - GM_STEPS=1,21,22,32: ALL PASSED, 123 checks - e2e 21 is rewritten for inline lists and the new tab, 22 and 32 are adapted. Sum in README: 1486 (+6 in 21, -1 in 22), counted by hand. - Counter-probes fail as expected: sub-lists not told apart (1 unit test), sub-list replacing the open tab, all items drawn inline (60 rows instead of 20), no live values (0 rows at 24 items in a run). Build your own easing curve and use it on keys and Lerp (#247)
The built-in eases cover the usual shapes, but a game often wants its own: a coin that bounces twice, a door that overshoots and settles. A new asset type holds such a curve, and keys and the Lerp node can pick it instead of a built-in ease. - New asset type "curve": points like in Vector art, x is t and y is the value. A new curve is the straight line from (0, 0) to (1, 1). - One pure evaluation in src/core/model/curve.ts serves the timeline preview, the running game and the Lerp node. - The curve always has one value per t. The end points stay at t 0 and 1, points cannot pass each other, and a handle that reaches past its neighbour is shortened along its direction. Loading a hand-edited file applies the same rules. - Curve tab: click on the line to insert a point that keeps the shape, click on free space to put one there, drag points and handles, double-click or Delete removes, Alt-click toggles round and sharp. Every step is one undo step. - Presets: all 30 built-in eases plus Linear, fitted with adaptive subdivision. Each stays within 0.4 % of the built-in ease. - Preview: a dot runs along the curve once a second, a second dot shows only the value. The Preview button stops it. - Animation keys get "Curve" under Easing with a curve picker. Lerp gets "Curve" under Ease, and its result may overshoot b. - A missing or unpicked curve runs linear. The inspector says so, the node shows it as a problem, and deleting a used curve warns with the number of keys and Lerp nodes. Tests: - ./check.sh: 180 files, 2612 tests, CHECK EXIT 0 - GM_STEPS=1-6,25,53: ALL PASSED, 309 checks - New e2e module 53 with 13 checks, all with the real mouse. Expected values come from its own Bezier evaluation. - Counter-checks bite: without Bezier evaluation 4 unit tests fail, without handle clamping 2. In the browser, a key that cannot find its curve, a click that sets no point and a handle drag that moves the point all turn checks red. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Copy and paste scene objects and graph nodes (#240)
Copy and paste only existed for animation keys. Building a scene or a graph meant placing every object and node again by hand, even when the same arrangement was needed twice. - Ctrl+C copies the selected objects with their whole subtree, or the selected nodes with their links, groups and comments. Ctrl+V pastes into the scene, container or graph of the visible tab. - The copy is a snapshot in the editor's own clipboard, in memory. It holds asset ids, so the system clipboard is not used. It is cleared when another project opens. - A paste lands under the mouse pointer when it is over the view, and keeps its arrangement. Otherwise it lands one grid step beside the original. Each further copy that still exists moves one step on, so an undone copy does not count. - Objects get new ids for the whole subtree. They paste into the one selected object and keep their look under the new parent. If that object is the original or an earlier copy, the paste lands beside it instead of nesting deeper with every Ctrl+V. - A placed container stays a container. Content copied out of a container pastes as plain objects. Pasting a container into its own template is refused. - Nodes paste only where the palette would offer them. A second Start or End, a State in a behavior or a behavior calling itself is left out, and a notice names what was dropped. - Menus: Copy and Paste in the object menu, a new Paste menu on empty scene space, Copy in the node and box menus, Paste in the palette. - Ctrl+V still imports a picture from the system clipboard when the copy does not fit the tab. While objects are copied, the scene and container tabs use Ctrl+V for them, as the timeline does for keys. Not checked in the browser: paste in the container tab, in state machine, shader and particle graphs, and from the hierarchy menu. The shared code path covers them. Tests: - ./check.sh: 175 files, 2531 tests, CHECK EXIT 0 - e2e 51 (new): ALL PASSED, 11 checks with real keys and clicks - 13 unit tests in tests/editor/clipboard.test.ts, one of them pins the grid step after undo found during e2e - 7 counter-checks all fail as expected (6 unit, 1 in the browser) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Let the scene view hide symbols, names and shapes per asset kind
The scene view gets crowded once a scene holds many behaviors, colliders and tilemaps. A new eye button in the topbar opens a list of all placeable asset kinds, and each row has toggles for what the scene view draws for that kind. - The popup lists all 9 placeable kinds from Behavior to Tilemap, with the columns Symbol, Name and Shape. It stays open while switching. - Sprite, Text and Tilemap draw no symbol, so their symbol toggle is greyed out. Their name toggle shows a new centred name tag, which is off by default. - Shape exists for Collider and Tilemap. A hidden collider outline is neither drawn nor clickable. A hidden tilemap shape removes the collision outlines and the paint tint, the tiles stay visible. - A hidden symbol takes no slot in the ring and draws no dashed link to its parent. A name that stays on moves to the centre of the object. - The setting lives in the project as `sceneVisibility`, not in localStorage. Older projects load with the defaults, which match the view as it was. - Switching has no undo step, like the game scale. It only changes the view. A change made during Play survives Stop. - The rules sit in `src/core/model/sceneVisibility.ts`, the popup in `src/editor/panels/SceneVisibilityPopup.ts`. Four new SVG icons. Not covered by a check: symbol off with name on for a kind with a symbol, Text and Tilemap with names, and the paint tint with shape off. Tests: - ./check.sh: 173 files, 2515 tests, CHECK EXIT 0 - e2e 46: ALL PASSED, 17 checks. 46g clicks the popup, lays a small tilemap over the crate and removes it again. - e2e 8 alone on a fresh seed: ALL PASSED, 23 checks. A red check in the partial run 2,8,46 came from the module selection. - 8 new unit tests in tests/editor/scene-visibility.test.ts. - 4 counter-probes, each fails its test: load ignores the saved value, Play skips the saved model, scene view ignores collider shape, scene view ignores tilemap shape. Let structs and lists nest to any depth (#239)
Structs and lists were capped at two fixed levels (list of structs, struct with a list field). Anything deeper was dropped silently on load, in node settings and when written to a variable. The cap came from an early design choice, not from a technical need, so it is lifted completely instead of adding a third fixed level. - One kind list NESTED_KINDS replaces ListItemKind and StructFieldKind. The flat special cases in listItems.ts are gone, every value goes through one recursive path. - A struct inside a struct is declared, like a top-level struct. Values coming in over an edge are brought into that shape. Struct items in lists still take their fields from the value. - New valuePath.ts addresses any nested spot by keys and indices. ListSlot.field is now ListSlot.path. - Field commands (add, rename, remove) take the path to the struct. They change declaration, own value and all overrides in one undo step, as before on the top level. - Inspector: "+ Field" offers Struct and List on every level. A nested struct is a header row with its own "+ Field", its fields are indented one step further. - List tab: a list item shows "n items" and opens one level deeper. The title shows the path, e.g. "Listy · nums · [3]". - Pack in Pack now writes a struct into a struct field instead of text. Keep play start and game view scale in the project (#226)
Both settings lived in the browser's localStorage, so they did not travel with the project and differed per machine. They now belong to the project like the symbol scale. There is no migration, old projects load with the defaults. - New module src/core/model/playSettings.ts reads playFrom and gameScale on load. Unknown or missing values fall back to the start scene and 100%. - src/editor/settings.ts is gone. - Play starts in the project settings dialog is an undo step (SetPlayFromCommand). It is only recorded on a real change. - The game view scale is saved with the project but is no undo step, so Ctrl+Z never undoes a zoom. A scale picked during play is written to the stored project and survives Stop. - Save states of persistent Variables assets (saves.ts) stay in the browser on purpose. They are runtime data of the game, not settings. Tests: - 6 new unit tests in tests/editor/play-settings.test.ts: defaults, save and load, broken JSON, undo of Play starts, scale without undo step, scale picked during play survives Stop. - e2e 03g checks the value in the project, nothing in localStorage and no new undo step. 35f also checks project.playFrom. No new checks, the sum stays at 1375. - Counter checks: no write to the stored project in play, no read on load, and an undo step for the scale each fail exactly their test. - ./check.sh: 158 files, 2332 tests, CHECK EXIT 0 - e2e 1-17,28,30,35,38-40,46: ALL PASSED, 752 checks Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Keep a dragged rigidbody on the mouse while the game plays
Dragging a sprite with a dynamic rigidbody in the scene view during play barely moved it. Only a quick drag and release got through. A dragged object should follow the mouse as if it had no rigidbody and start from rest when it is let go. - The scene view reports the dragged objects as held through EditorState. The game tick no longer writes its own position over a drag position that has not been read in yet. This affected every object in play, not only rigidbodies. - A held dynamic body turns kinematic and is set straight to the drag target. Gravity and velocity no longer pull it away between two mouse moves, and the "moved directly" warning stays quiet. - A body counts as held when the object itself, an object above it or its rigidbody is dragged. - On release the body turns dynamic again with linear and angular velocity set to 0. Not changed: a press on an unselected crate still lands on its same-sized collider (rule from #203). Dragging while play is paused and in the editor run is untouched. Tests: - ./check.sh: 155 files, 2273 tests, CHECK EXIT 0 (before 2271). - e2e 41 alone: 21 checks. e2e 1-16,39-43: 641 checks, all passed. - 2 unit tests: a held body stays where the drag puts it and starts from rest, also for a grip shorter than one physics step. The tick does not overwrite a drag position that is not read in yet. - 1 e2e check in 41b: the crate is lifted 150 units with the real mouse, holds exactly at -3490 for a second, then falls from rest (1.3 px, then 5.1 px) with an empty log. - Counter-checks: without holding in physics the crate falls back to the ground and the old warning shows. With the tick writing back the unit test fails. Without zeroing, a short grip keeps 490 px/s and the test fails. - Check total 1356 + 1 = 1357, calculated. Ping an asset from its inspector link instead of selecting it (#221)
A single click on an asset link used to select the asset. That swapped
the inspector over to the asset, so the object being edited was gone
and the second click of a double-click landed on a different row. A
click now pings the asset in the asset panel, like Unity does in its
Project window, and a double-click opens it.
- state.pingAsset(id) emits a new `ping` event. It runs no command and
leaves the selection alone, like openAsset.
- ListView.ping(id) draws an accent overlay on the row. It stays full
for 200 ms and is gone after 1 s, driven by onFrame. destroy cancels
the animation.
- The asset panel expands the group, scrolls to the row and pings it.
- The capture listener and followedLink in the inspector are gone.
The inspector is no longer rebuilt, so pressCount on the label is
enough. followsPress and pressOf are no longer exported from ui/.
- The "Asset" and "Part of" rows of a scene object were a ghost button
that selected the asset. They are now a link label with the same
ping and open behaviour, next to a read-only field with the name.
- The link logic lives in linkLabel() in fieldFactory.ts. createFieldRow
and the asset row share it.
- TextField gets a readOnly option: no focus, no caret, no hover.
- New hook __gm.assetPing(). inspectorLink also reports the field
next to the label (value, readOnly).
Findings:
- Renaming an asset while its object was selected left the old name
in the inspector. This was already the case with the old button.
The refresh now updates the name.
Tests:
- ./check.sh: 151 files, 2228 tests, CHECK EXIT 0 (before 150 / 2226).
New: tests/ui/list-ping.test.ts for pingAlpha and pingAsset.
- e2e 1-16,28 on the final build: ALL PASSED, 575 checks.
28l-ii has 9 checks instead of 5.
- Counter-checks, each failing exactly at its check: ping also selects,
no follow-up frame (alpha stays 0.55), inspector never opens, field
takes focus, name not refreshed, label not a link.
- Check total 1345, calculated. CI last counted 1336 at

Vector shapes can be combined by union, subtract and more (#187)
Building a shape out of simpler ones meant drawing the result point by point. The Vector Art tab now selects several shapes at once and combines them with a boolean operation into one ordinary shape. - Ctrl/Cmd+click in the tab and Ctrl or Shift+click in the shape list add a shape to the selection. Shift stays pan in the canvas. - A COMBINE block in the inspector offers Union, Subtract, Intersect and Exclude. Subtract removes every upper shape from the lowest one. - The result replaces the lowest selected shape and keeps its name, colours, stroke and place in the order. It is one undo step. - Curves are flattened to 0.2 canvas pixels, a circle gets about 48 points. Open lines and single shapes cannot be combined, the buttons are off and a hint gives the reason. An empty result is rejected. - Delete now removes every selected shape, and the selection drops shapes that no longer exist. - The geometry comes from clipper2-ts 2.0.1, pinned. It has no dependencies and speaks even-odd directly. Only the engine module is imported, the bundle grows by 55 kB instead of 110 kB. Findings: - clipper2-js was tried and dropped. It pulls in Angular 15 with a high npm audit finding and no fix. - Pixi finds holes by containment, not by even-odd depth. An island inside a hole would be drawn as a hole again. Result rings are emitted outer ring before its islands, and a test mirrors Pixi's rule. - A depth sort turned out to be dead code in a counter-check and was removed. A pixel check in 47h stayed green without the subtract and now checks both colours. Tests: - ./check.sh: 134 files, 1986 tests, exit 0 (before 133 / 1968) - npm run build: exit 0 - GM_STEPS=47, freshly seeded: ALL PASSED, 44 checks (before 39) - 18 new unit tests, 5 new e2e checks in block 47h - Five counter-checks bite, originals restored and verified with cmp - Check sum 1222 in README and wiki, calculated (1217 + 5) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Vector art has a tab to draw in, which is stage 3 of #129
Stages 1 and 2 gave the asset a model and a picture, but the only way to put a shape into it was a test calling mutate. The tab closes that gap: what you draw there is what the sprite in the scene carries, with no extra step, because the fingerprint changes and the picture registry of #185 redraws. - The tab has a header with Select, Pen, Grid and Fit, a chequerboard behind the canvas and the canvas itself as a frame. It paints with the same commands as the rasterizer, paintDrawing being exported from viewport/vectorArtPicture.ts for it, so the tab cannot drift away from the picture. - Pen sets points on a click and pulls the handles out on a drag, both of them mirrored; a click on the first point closes the ring and Esc ends an open line. - Select drags a point, a handle or a whole shape, a click on an edge puts a point there, a double click takes one away, and Alt turns a corner round and back. Delete removes the selected shape. - The rules grew inside polygonEdit.ts instead of a second module, as the plan says, so a collider polygon and a frame outline get the same behaviour where it applies. - A point on a curved edge splits the curve by de Casteljau instead of cutting it: both halves together draw exactly what was there before. - A curved edge is walked instead of measured over its chord, or a click on the bow of a curve would grab nothing; the same walk carries the test for the inside of a ring. - One gesture is one undo step. The preview writes the model directly and the old state is put back on release before the command runs, which is the pattern the frame outlines of #141 already use. - state.ts gained a selection kind "shape". The inspector shows the rows of the asset for it, the shape list with colour, opacity and stroke being stage 4. One counter-check was no counter-check: disabling the pen's closing tolerance by multiplying it with 0 left the run green, and rightly so, because the closing click lands on exactly the screen coordinate point 0 came from, so the distance is 0 and <= 0 is true. Only an unsatisfiable condition really switched it off, and then 2 checks fail. A second trap on the way: a false && in front of the guard breaks the TS narrowing, npm run build bails out, and two runs went against the old bundle. Tests: check.sh 127 files, 1878 tests, EXIT 0 (was 126 / 1860). Full e2e suite ALL PASSED - 1172 checks, module 47 alone 17 (was 10). 18 new unit tests in tests/editor/ring-edit.test.ts and 7 new e2e checks in blocks 47c and 47d. Two counter-checks hold: no de Casteljau fails 1 unit test, measuring a curve over its chord fails another. Originals checked back with cmp and rebuilt. |

A box drawn around a part of the graph is part of it, so a fit frames it and a band catches it (#95)
game-maker / suite (push) Successful in 6m22s
Fit measured the nodes alone: a group drawn around them was cut off, and a graph holding nothing but a comment framed the empty origin. It now frames both sorts together. The rubber band ignored boxes entirely. It catches them now, into the *same* selection as the nodes — `nodeIds` and `annotationIds` side by side — so one drag moves all of it, one Delete removes all of it, and one undo takes it back. A box counts only when the band holds all of it, where a node counts on touching: a group wraps the nodes it holds and therefore overlaps every band drawn over any of them, and since it drags those nodes along, catching it by accident would be felt at once. A node inside a selected group is moved once, not twice — `travellers()` collects everything one gesture carries and lets each thing appear in it a single time. A graph that grew past one screen needs somewhere to say what a part of it is for (#38)
game-maker / suite (push) Successful in 6m13s
The graph could hold any number of nodes and said nothing about which of them belonged together. Groups and comments are two separate things, as decided in the issue: a group is a titled box that carries the nodes it encloses, a comment is free text that carries nothing. Both live as optional arrays on Graph, not as registry nodes. A comment that were a real node would run through the interpreter, show up in the drop palettes and be compiled into a shader — the wrong place for a piece of text. As arrays on Graph they exist in all four graph kinds at once, and a document without them means exactly "no groups", so no format bump. Membership is computed when the box is grabbed, never stored: the center of a node inside the box travels with it, and a node dragged out is simply out. A box inside a box travels with the outer one, its own nodes included. A group is grabbed by its title bar only — its body stays transparent to the pointer, or a rubber band could never be drawn across the nodes it holds. Deleting a box deletes the box; the nodes stay where they are, because a box that silently took ten nodes with it would be the most expensive surprise in the feature. The color is a free picker, and the title color follows from it: relative luminance per WCAG, threshold at 0.179 where the two contrast ratios meet — not 0.5, which would pick white on mid grey where black reads better. Resizing snaps the far edge to the grid, not the width, so the corner that is not being dragged stays put. The minimum size rises in whole steps for that reason: 80 is no multiple of 24, so a box squeezed to the stop would have sat off-grid in exactly the mode meant to keep it on. A game that is more than one scene needs a way from one to the next, so the graph can load one (#39)
game-maker / suite (push) Failing after 11m6s
Load scene sets a flag on the World like Stop and Restart do; the swap happens after the tick, and the last wish of a tick wins. Exactly one thing crosses over: the SharedState, so global variables and global machines keep what they know while everything local is built anew. Loading the scene that is already running rebuilds it, which is what "reset the level" means when the score must survive. A run starts either from the start scene (a new project field, set from the asset panel and marked with an arrow in the list) or from whatever scene is open. The toggle next to Play says which question is asked and remembers the answer in localStorage: it is a way of working, not part of the game. Sounds no longer end because a scene ends. A voice belongs to the behavior that started it and stops right after On destroy, so the scene swap is no longer a special case at all. For the enemy that plays its explosion and destroys itself in the same breath there is now a detached input on Play sound. The scene selector stays usable while a run plays, because a double click in the asset panel already did the same thing unguarded. It moves what the editor looks at, not what the run plays. |

A still editor has nothing to draw, so the frame loop wakes on change (#44)
game-maker / suite (push) Successful in 10m46s
The renderer is taken off the ticker; the ticker itself keeps running, so the clock, a live world and the panels still get their step. Drawing now happens inside a 200 ms trailing window that every pointer, wheel and key event, every Widget.invalidate/resize, every Stack.relayout, every EditorState.emit and both library onChange hooks reopen. The window rather than a single frame is what makes the ~70 direct redraw() calls that never pass through invalidate() safe, along with repaints an event only starts: a microtask, a texture upload, a resolved font. Editor.movesByItself() keeps asking for every frame while Play or an editor run is on, a time shader is on screen, or the particle or animation preview is showing. The FPS counter now counts drawn frames over the time the renderer was awake. Idle seconds are not slow seconds, so it answers "how smooth while it moves" and holds its last answer instead of falling to 0 at rest. Measured on the built stand, 20 s per variant, CPU of all chromium processes from /proc: kept awake 75.5 % of a core at 60 fps, render on change 8.8 % with 0 frames drawn, awake again 83.9 % as an order probe. No colour check can see a missing repaint: pixelAt extracts from the stage on demand and is just as green on a screen frozen a minute ago. Step 33 watches the new __gm.renderStats() counter instead. |

A particle is a function of its age, not a thing that is stepped (#73)
game-maker / suite (push) Failing after 4m22s
The asset type `particles` is placeable and carries a graph at the same time — `behavior` was the blueprint. Because a continuous emitter gives birth to particle n at time n/rate, the whole field is a function of the clock rather than of the frames: no ring-buffer bookkeeping, exact time jumps, reproducibility as a measurable property. compile.ts follows compileShader's frame but emits JS closures into a Float64Array instead of GLSL, and without eval; a node with two consumers is evaluated once. Drawing is one Pixi ParticleContainer per source, so one draw call. Collision, wind and braking in flight are out for good — that is the price of the formula model, not an omission. The tab count goes from nine to ten, which is exactly the case #84 was built for one day earlier: at 1280 px the row no longer holds every tab, so guard 14b now asks for hidden.length > 0 instead of === 0. |

Asset panel: double-click opens the tab, single click only selects (#71)
game-maker / suite (push) Failing after 8m11s
One rule for every asset type: a click on an asset row selects it, a double-click (or Enter, or creating it via +) opens its tab. Selection alone still switches tabs only for nodes, frames and template objects. - state.openAsset(id) = select + 'open' event; the editor maps the asset type to its tab via TAB_OF_ASSET. The two special clauses for state machine and shader assets in the selection handler are gone. - Creating via + and importing a texture from the picker open the tab; paste/drop of an image only selects. - 3 unit tests (event order, re-open of a selected asset, selection never fires open), 14 e2e checks in step 4. Shader assets: graph-built shaders, the Shader tab and sprite rows from the graph (#62)
game-maker / suite (push) Failing after 3m59s
A shader is an asset carrying a node graph (Texture color, Output, Property, Color, Add/Subtract/Multiply/Divide, Mix, Luminance) that compiles to the GLSL fragment of a Pixi filter. The Shader tab reuses the Behavior canvas; a sprite wears a shader through its Shader picker, and the rows below it are the graph's Property nodes. Property schema, resolution and deviation take the project because a sprite's rows now live in another asset. The built-in registry of the prototype is gone; "Adjust colors" ships as a graph in the fixture and the three example games. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Console panel: capture console.*, timestamped lines, resizable (#50)
A log layer (src/editor/console/log.ts) keeps a 500-line ring buffer and
wraps console.log/info/debug/warn/error, still calling the original. Notices
and behaviour runtime errors go straight to the layer instead of through
console, so editor tests stay quiet and errors can render red. world.log is
untouched: it is per-run structured state that runtime tests and e2e read
directly, not a text stream.
The panel sits under the visible tab, resizable with Splitter('y'), with a
CONSOLE header and a clear button. Each line carries its wall-clock time in
its own dimmed column, so locate() still finds the message text.
The taller centre area drops the graph fit zoom to 0.60, which broke six e2e
checks that assumed one screen pixel is one graph unit and that a fixed
offset from the canvas centre is empty. They now ask __gm.emptySpot(),
__gm.graph.emptySpot() and __gm.graph.zoom() instead of guessing.
locate/locateAll added the unscaled Pixi text width to the global position,
so click points in the scaled graph canvas landed too far right; they use
getBounds() now.

State machines: asset, tab, State branch and Set state nodes (#51)
A state machine is an asset whose graph holds one `State` node per state (no ports, name as title), edited in a new "State machine" tab that reuses the graph canvas: right-click places "State n", snap toggle shared with the Behavior tab via SnapToggle. `statemachine` is a value kind like texture (port, literal node, variable, struct field, tagged list item). Behaviors use it through `State branch` (one exec output per state) and `Set state` (one exec input per state; the interpreter now hands `run` the entry port). States live per behavior instance in NodeContext.states, with no initial state. Ports derive from the inline picker or a wired `State machine` literal; BehaviorLookup became GraphLookup with behavior(id) and machine(id). The Graph tab is labelled "Behavior" (key unchanged). Unit tests (state-machine, kinds, catalog, ports), e2e step 26 and README added. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Play sprite animations from an animation asset worn through texture
An animation asset is a list of pictures (whole textures or frames) with frames per second and Loop/Once/Ping-pong playback. A sprite wears it through its texture property, so the picker, instance overrides and the Properties node work unchanged; there is no dedicated play node. A different animation starts from its first frame, the same one set again runs on, so a graph may choose Run or Idle every frame. The clock lives on the entity, not in props, which the world writes back as overrides. The AnimationSystem ticks before behaviors, and On animation finished fires once when a Once animation reaches its end. The Animation tab plays a preview above a frame strip: reorder by dragging, Delete, duplicate, + Frames, pause/resume, and wheel zoom about the pointer with pan and Fit. Scene and Container tabs show the first frame; edit mode has no clock. Right-clicking a texture creates an animation from its frames. Button now measures its label with the bold font it draws in, which cut the Animation tab and red dialog buttons short. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Consolidate duplicated editor code, trim comments, refresh README
Split GraphCanvas (1076 -> 831 lines) into EdgeLayer and graphMenus; the port and marker menus were the same list and are now one function. Value specs of the inspector and the list tab share valueSpecs.ts, and the remaining copies (compound commands, type glyphs, typed asset lookup, name rule, play/editor world setup, marquee) are merged. Four copies had already drifted apart; merging them fixes: - "Disconnect N links" in the port menu is one undo step, not N - "+ Add collider" is hidden on a placed container instance, as in the hierarchy menu, instead of always failing - a bool property coerced from the text "false" becomes false - a port command on an unknown node type reports instead of crashing Comment-only edits leave the bundle byte-identical. Finish the struct and list leftovers: inline lists, list fields, item kinds
An unconnected list input is a button into the List tab instead of a number field; a struct field can hold a list, so ListSlot carries an optional field name and the three owner cases only say what sits at a key; and a list variable picks its item kind in the inspector (marker doubles as the chooser), so a list of structs no longer has to be born from a project file. The declaration keeps the storable shapes finite: a struct field may be a list, but that list holds primitives only, so list->struct->primitive and struct->list->primitive are the two deepest forms. check 674, e2e 483, jump-run 24, Tetris 19. Give a list its own tab instead of a comma line
A list property in the inspector was a single text field holding a comma
separated line -- unreadable past a handful of items, and it could not
carry anything but text. It becomes a button ("3 items") that opens a
sixth centre tab, where every item is a row built by the very widget the
inspector would build for that item kind.
The renderer was free: a PropertyDef of kind 'list' already carries
`items`, so item i becomes a synthetic def of that kind -- number, text,
boolean and colour rows appear without a new branch.
The way into the tab goes through the state (EditorState.listSlot,
openList(), event 'list'), like every other tab switch here; a tab may
not call showTab itself. ListSlot lives next to Selection rather than in
the tab folder, or state.ts would have to import upwards.
A row's handlers must not close over a snapshot of the list: they outlive
a commit, since the tab only rebuilds when the length changes, and the
second edited row would otherwise revive the value the first replaced.
showTab switched five `visible` lines by hand, where a sixth tab is
silently forgotten; it is a Record<CentreTab, Widget> now.

Pause is a sub-state of play, not a third mode: the toolbar button and Ctrl+Enter stop ticking the world, the clock included. A held frame still drops the input edges, so resuming does not fire a pause worth of keys in one go. The editor run missed the case it is most wanted for. hasEditorRun only looked at the stored scene objects, so a behavior inside a placed container never started one; the world now builds from resolveObjects and writes back through objectRef, keeping the move as an instance edit instead of baking the instance out. Keys and clicks go to the run while the Game tab is on screen, where no key means anything to the editor, and are handed back on leaving it - held keys released, so nothing keeps walking unpressed. |

Let a behavior run while the editor is open
A behavior object carries a "Run in editor" switch next to Enabled. When it is on, the behavior ticks outside of Play and works on the saved model directly - Unity semantics: what it moves is a real change, autosaved and not undoable. Input stays with the editor, so On key never fires while typing. The editor run never bakes placed containers into the model, since that would silently drop their instanceEdits. syncToModel reports whether it wrote anything, and the dirty flag is only raised on change - otherwise a behavior moving something every frame would trigger ~60 saves a second. |

Pan with the middle button, select several nodes, and fit properly
Three things the graph view did differently from the scene view, or not at all: Panning moves to the middle button, which works from anywhere – a node under the pointer included, since NodeView now lets that one button bubble up. Shift-drag on empty canvas pans too. The left button pulls a rubber band instead and no longer pans. Nodes can be selected several at a time: by band, by ctrl/shift-click, moved together, deleted together, each as one undo step. The selection model gains `nodeIds` alongside the objects' `objectIds`. Fit really fits. It used to pin the zoom at 1 and merely centre, so a graph larger than the view always left nodes hanging out, and it sized every node with one guessed height although real ones vary with their port count. Both sums now live in editor/graph/framing.ts as pure functions, which is what made the defect testable at all. The band selects any node it overlaps rather than one whose position it contains, unlike the scene view: nodes are large rectangles, and a band drawn visibly across one has to catch it. |

Resolve container content from the template instead of copying it
A scene now stores only the container object; its content is resolved from the template on every read, with deviations kept as sparse instanceEdits on the container object. This drops the propagation bookkeeping entirely -- templateSync.ts is gone and the three structural gaps (add, remove, reparent) cannot diverge any more. Values stay editable on an instance, structure does not; Unpack writes the content into the scene, keeping ids. Play mode bakes containers into the throwaway copy before entities are built. No migration: formatVersion is 2 and the seeders write the new format. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Add a Container tab and propagate template edits
The Container tab reuses SceneViewport against any object holder, so a container template is edited exactly like a scene. Right-click no longer changes the selection, which previously made nesting impossible: opening the menu on a container loaded it, and "Place in container" then targeted itself. Template edits (move, rename, override) now reach already-placed instances per slot, through a shared templateSync used by both the apply path and the plain object commands. Copies the user has touched keep their own value. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

Trim needless comments and fix the picker width
Remove comments that only restate the code, keeping the section banners and the notes that carry a reason, a measured fact or an external contract. ButtonOptions.width claimed to be a fixed width but only set minWidth, so the Graph and Texture pickers grew with the name they showed. It is now what it promises, with a separate minWidth for the buttons that have two forms. Narrow buttons shrink their padding, otherwise a 24px icon button had 8px left for its glyph and truncate dropped it entirely. __gm.labelsDropped() guards that class: the overflow guard only saw text that was too wide, never a label truncated to nothing. Add a Texture tab for defining frames
A new Texture tab next to Scene/Game/Graph shows a texture sheet and lets frames be drawn on it: drag to create, move, resize via eight handles, edit name and rect in the inspector, Delete to remove. Every change is a command, so one gesture is one undo step. "Slice..." cuts a grid from columns and rows with optional offset and spacing, previewing the resulting frame count and cell size live. Sprites pick a frame instead of the whole texture through the same `texture` property: it now holds either a texture id or a frame id. Frame ids come from the same generator and are document-wide unique, so one picker, one property and one set of instance overrides cover both cases, and every sprite written before this still means the same thing. A Graphics fill ignores a Pixi sub-texture's frame and draws the whole image, because it derives its uvs from the shape bounds and the inverted style matrix. The cutout is therefore a matrix (`viewport/textureFill.ts`), which keeps a sheet at a single GPU upload no matter how many of its frames are on screen at once. Add ESLint and Prettier, and close the node test gaps
Tooling: - Prettier as the single formatting authority (110 columns, single quotes, measured against the existing style); Markdown excluded because table-cell padding turns the README glossary into 1000-character lines. - Type-aware ESLint ending in eslint-config-prettier, so a rule always means "this is a bug", never "this looks different". - .editorconfig and an `npm run check` that runs typecheck, lint, format and tests in one go. Findings fixed on the first run: three more duplicate imports, four String(unknown) calls (parameter types narrowed instead of casts), two dead initialisers, two redundant casts, a console.log for a real error. Two warnings were false here and are disabled with a reason in place. Tests 132 -> 269: - node-catalog.test.ts covers every node with a run(), with a guard that fails when a new node has no row. - behavior-events.test.ts covers the ten event nodes through a running World, checking timing rather than existence. - Input's state machine (press/release/releaseAll) is reachable without DOM events now; the DOM handlers are thin adapters. Compare fell back to == without a configured operator although the schema default is <; aligned. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |
